New Journey

Today is the day I started my "new journey".  I am taking control of my weight by the way of PiYo.  This is an exercise program that I purchased through my Beachbody coach.  The instructor of PiYo is Chalene Johnson.  She's also know for Turbo Fire (I might be getting that later).  I'm very, very excited.  I have been battling this obsession with my weight for too many years now.  When we moved from So Cal to Nor Cal, I packed on about 35lbs.  It was by way of cooking like I was part of the Paula Deen team.  I had never been a stay at home mom before, and I felt the need to bake and make gourmet meals for dinner.  Now I'm down to only cooking for 3 instead of 5.  It's not easy to downsize meals.

My way of cooking has changed dramatically in the last couple of years as well.  I personally like the way I feel when I don't eat anything with gluten.  I haven't been diagnosed with celiac disease, but feel that there is some sort of intolerance.  Now that doesn't mean I won't eat a piece of good sour dough bread, or have one of my mom's delicious chocolate chip cookies; I just don't consume gluten everyday.  My motto is just eat clean food..aka JERF.  I read labels and eat a lot of fresh food.

So here is my 1st day of my new journey.  Now I have to tell you I've started and stopped this journey many times, but the difference today is I'm putting it down in writing to hold myself accountable.  Hopefully putting it on this blog will get the chatter in my head to go away.  It's consuming my life, and I just need to live again.

So here is my first day.  You can follow me on Instagram @surfmclean5.
